Charlie Ford’s practice shifts between the mediums of performance and moving image, extracting from methods in choreography, video and drawing. His performative gestures allude to everyday encounters with materials and objects,  yet seek to disrupt familiarity through the use of space, site and time. His visual research explores how movement and material collide to abstract the everyday; engaging the body in moments of rationality and senselessness, control and failure, isolation and intimacy.

charlieford.space is a transitional thinking space of moments, ideas and various other scraps from his past/current projects. It plays with digital space and movement, and how gathered fragments from his practice connect to each other.

Charlie is from Greater Manchester, UK, currently living and working from his studio in Surrey.
